There are multiple options how to reach us:

From the airport, catch a taxi from the rank or pre-book a transfer with us. The transfer time is approximately 20 minute. Alternatively, you are able to use the “Bolt” taxi app.

If you come with a car, set the GPS to Quintinha de São João, Rua da Levada de São João, 4, 9000-191 Funchal – you can park your car in our underground carpark (this is on a first come, first serve basis.) Ask for the access code on your arrival from Reception.

By local bus – upon exiting the arrival hall, locate the public bus stop at Madeira Airport. Wait for the Aerobus (timetable at: https://www.sam.pt/en/aerobus-information.html). Purchase your ticket directly on the bus from the driver. The nearest stops for the Quintinha de São João are either numbers 08 or 09.

We are able to organise airport transfer for you. Just send us an email to [email protected] with your flight details and we will take care of the rest. The cost will be added to the extras bill. Price available on request.

You are able to park your car in our underground carpark or on the street. Our carpark works on a “first come, first serve” basis. The entry code is available from Reception on your arrival.

Approximately 1.5kms. The hotel is a 15/20-minute walk away from the city centre, but a reasonably priced taxi will take you down in 5/10 minutes. Twice daily (Mon-Fri) we run a Courtesy Bus service which connects our guests to the city centre.

Officially, check-in is at 14:00 on the day of arrival. You can, however, always inquire as to whether your room is ready for an early check in subject to availability. Our Reception is open 24 hours, so don´t worry if you have a late/early arrival. You may leave your luggage with Reception whilst you wait for your room.

The check-out is at 12:00. A late check-out is subject to availability but you may leave your luggage with Reception and use the hotel until your departure.

Yes. There is a washing and ironing service or just a simple ironing service available. There are no ironing facilities in the rooms, or irons for hire from Reception.

We do have a small fully equipped gym that is open from 08:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. We also offer Yoga classes in our garden free of charge for our guests, which are bookable from Reception.

This depends on the payment option you choose to accept. This is more or less self-explanatory. “Prepaid and nonrefundable” means that you pay in advance and, should you wish to cancel, there will be no refund forthcoming. The other option is “Pay on arrival at the property”. “Free cancellation until (date added)” and this may be paid at the hotel and you will be able to cancel your booking without charge until the date shown. If you need further explanation or find yourselves needing our help with a specific situation, please contact us directly.

The hotel offers 42 traditional Maderian style rooms & suites. Ranging from 25m² to 45m², our Deluxe, Premium Balcony, Junior, and Superior Suites are the perfect fit for any stay. Some of our rooms have a balcony and all have ensuite bathrooms, and a separate living area. Our Superior Suites have a separate living room and entrance hallway. All of our rooms and suites are equipped with: Air-conditioning; Heating; Bathrobes; Cable Television; Sofa; Minibar, Tea & Coffee making facilities with a kettle; Writing desk; Direct dial telephone; Dressing table; complimentary Safe; Hairdryer; Free Wi-Fi and Free Press Reader via our App. Additional Comfort Kits are also available on request and carry a small extra charge.

The maximum number of people in a room is two or three, depending on the room you have chosen. An extra bed is available for the 3rd person and a cot for infants. Children are considered to be aged under 12 years and infants up to the age of 2 years). Please request cots at the time of booking.

Yes! You will find menus in the Quintinha app under “Room Service”. The breakfast menu is available from 07:30 to 10:30, and snacks and main dishes are available from midday until 10 p.m.

The “A Morgadinha” restaurant is open for our buffet breakfast from 7.30 am to 10.30 am and for dinner between 7:00 p.m. to – 10:00 p.m. for our A la Carte and Half Board menus.

The “Vasco da Gama” bar is open from 11:00 a.m to 11:00 p.m serving cocktails, light lunches, afternoon tea and picnics. During the summer months (subject to the weather and usually between the end of June to October) there is the Bar da Piscina located by the outdoor swimming pool (11:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m) with the same service.

The Spa da Quintinha is open between 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
